Gallery TS1 now has a wide range of handcrafted artworks for under £30 which are sure to make great gifts with a difference as shoppers hunt for bargains.
The combined shop and workspace showcases a variety of high quality affordable art and crafts, from artworks on canvas, photography, textiles, fashion, jewellery and ceramics.
Gallery TS1 - in a prime location on Middlesbrough's Corporation Road - has grown from an Arts Apprenticeship scheme initiated by Middlesbrough Council's Culture and Tourism services.
The project was set up to encourage young people aged 16 and over to gain invaluable hands-on work experience, with the possibility of progressing into further education, training or employment. The apprenticeship scheme will continue to run alongside Gallery TS1 throughout the year.
Juliet Farrar, Head of Culture and Tourism, said: "The energy and talent of local creative industries contribute a great deal to life in the town and it's important that as many people as possible can see and own some of this work."
Councillor David Budd, Middlesbrough Council's Executive Member for Regeneration and Economic Development, said: "The town is home to an array of talented artists and craftspeople and it's great to be able to offer them somewhere to showcase their creativity.
"Gallery TS1 is proving to be a great addition to Middlesbrough's thriving cultural scene."
