mima: Giovanni Corvaja: Alchemia

In May 2009 mima was gifted Bracelet, 1999 by Italian goldsmith Giovanni Corvaja through the Art Fund Collect initiative. Alchemia presents the first museum exhibition of this work and a major acquisition for mima’s international jewellery collection.

Accompanying text will unpack every aspect of the work, from its context within mima’s collection, traditions of Italian avant-garde goldsmithing and the phenomenal technical innovations that went into the making of this exceptional object.

Giovanni Corvaja has been exhibiting his work internationally since 1989. His pieces have been presented in more than 150 solo and group exhibitions worldwide and are in numerous collections of major museums.
