Musical world premiere by Streetwise Opera

Award winning charity Streetwise Opera presents the world premiere of a brand new composition as part of an inspiring hour of music in Middlesbrough.

The free show, Middlesbrough Opera Hour, will take place at the town’s Central Library in Centre Square from 7pm on Thursday, March 16.

Featured in the concert will be opera extracts and songs, a short video and an informal audience singalong.

However, one of the main highlights will be a brand new opera chorus, composed by Bushra El-Turk with lyrics by Streetwise Opera’s performers, which has been created as part of the group’s 15th anniversary season.

Streetwise Opera is an award-winning charity that uses music to help people make positive changes in their lives. Working with people who have experienced homelessness and other members of the community, it runs workshop programmes across England, stages critically-acclaimed operas and manages With One Voice, an international arts and homelessness movement.

Middlesbrough Opera Hour is a great chance to hear from Streetwise Opera’s performers and find out more about the charity’s work.
