mima, Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, has lots of family friendly events and activities this summer, many of them free. Ranging from regular hands-on art activities for all the family, through to special one-off events such as a photographic portrait day and an intensive art summer school, there is something on offer for children of all ages. Families can also pick up a range of free family resources, including activity guides and outdoor garden games. The gallery’s café offers a family-friendly menu, high chairs and indoor and outdoor seating. mima’s shop sells arty gifts and pocket money souvenirs to take away. Entry to mima is free too.
