Artist's impression of the new club exterior for Soho

A Middlesbrough nightclub is set to be re-opened next month following the renovation of the former Basement Nightclub on Albert Road by local brothers James and John Taylor.

The club was legendary during the 90s’ when it was then known as alternative nightclub “Blaises”.

The new club “S O H O” will be housed on the lower ground floor of Centre North East, which is currently undergoing a multi-million pound redevelopment.

James Taylor, who has been the resident DJ at The Townhouse (formerly The Keys) on Linthorpe Rd for the last 9 years said the club is currently undergoing renovation and when finished the minimalist interior will feature a fully stocked bar, professional sound system, stage area and dance floor. Clubbers coming to SOHO can expect an exciting and varied programme of events from cutting edge club nights, student friendly parties, to live music, DJ’s and much more.

John Taylor, who also owns the recently opened Thirsty Souls and Dr Inks in Stockton said with the current redevelopment that is underway in this part of town and especially with all the new restaurants and bars planned for in and around Centre North East, meant this was the perfect time to bring the club back into use.

SOHO will open on Easter Weekend, Thursday 13th April. You can visit the clubs Facebook page for full details at facebook.com/sohombro
