Most people are surprised to learn that Teesside Hospice has annual running costs in excess of £2.7m, with in the region of one third of this being provided by the local Primary Care Trusts this leaves approximately £5,500 needed to be raised each and every day of the year from the Hospice’s own resources.

Every year thousands of people from across the region remember their loved ones at Christmas time by dedicating a star on the Teesside Hospice Light up a Life tree.

Due to the popularity of this special appeal Teesside Hospice has unveiled an additional Light up a Life tree in the Parkway Shopping Centre, Coulby Newham for the second year – meaning that even more local people can place a dedication on the tree and remember their loved ones in this special way.

Debbie Coulson, Marketing & Fundraising Manager, said “For many, the festive period is a time when loved ones are missed more than ever. We are so pleased to have the support of the Parkway Shopping Centre for the second year running, meaning that even more local people can take part in this very special appeal”.

Zoe France, Centre Manager, Parkway Shopping Centre said “I am delighted to be supporting the Light up a Life campaign, Teesside Hospice is a local based charity that is close to the hearts of many of our shoppers and the funds raised will make such a difference to the local community”

Teesside Hospice’s Light up a Life tree will be on display until 19th December. If you would like to place a Light up a Life dedication, simply visit the Parkway Shopping Centre, or one of the other tree’s located at the Hillstreet Shopping Centre, Teesside Crematorium or Tesco, Redcar.

All donations will go directly towards helping Teesside Hospice provide vital care to patients and their families.

Supporters of the campaign are invited to attend a special Remembrance Service held at St Barnabas Church, Linthorpe at 7pm on Wednesday 20th December, where the tree will be blessed and loved ones will be remembered.
