International students are full of praise for Teesside University

The student and learning experience at Teesside University has been universally praised by those who come to study from overseas.

The International Student Barometer (ISB) Survey 2017, the biggest survey of international students in the world, has revealed high levels of satisfaction among overseas students studying at Teesside University.

There was high praise for the careers service, which received a 100% satisfaction rate from the international students surveyed.

The library, learning technology, IT support, expert lecturers, campus buildings and counselling service all received satisfaction rates above 95%, with many other metrics scoring above 90%, including course content, learning support and social and sport facilities.

Overall satisfaction among international students at Teesside University was 94.4%.

The ISB surveyed 120 higher education institutions across the world, including 31 UK universities. Students were asked for their opinions across a wide range of categories relating to their experience as an international student.

Teesside University has demonstrated a continued commitment to improving its facilities and has invested over £270m in recent years to provide the best possible student and learning experience.

The University also recently announced its new £300m campus master plan, which will completely transform the campus over the next decade. Upcoming projects include a £12.5m Student Life Building to bring all student facing services together in one location, significant transformation of student accommodation, the first phase of developing a new home for Teesside University Business School, and the £22m National Horizons Centre, a biomedical research, education and skills facility at the University’s Darlington campus.

Dr David Bell, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) at Teesside University, said: “It is fantastic to see this extremely positive feedback from our international students and it is a testament to all the hard work and dedication of staff across the whole university.

“We have invested heavily to improve our student and learning experience and the positive results from the ISB demonstrate the impact of this decision.

“We will continue to invest and to improve our offer to ensure that Teesside University remains a positive choice for students from all over the world.”
